"After spending a little time reading about the Crusades, I started to wonder what they looked like from 'the other side.' Fortunately, this book was just what I was looking for to fill in that side of the equation. It does a great job of portraying that which is often completely overlooked when the Crusades are covered in most western histories."

"I read this book a few months ago. It's quite good. The stories can b e quite violent but it's history so it's to be expected. I found that I couldn't put the book down. I read it during my commute to work so it helped to pass the time. The author has a way of bringing the stories to life and engaging the reader. He shares a lot of accounts and quotes and is very factual. "
