DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that the famous Hollywood sign that stands on Mount Lee in the Santa Monica Mountains in Los Angeles, California has outlived its pre-dated day of deconstruction by more than 90 years? The famous landmark, which was created by the Crescent Sign Company in 1923 as an advertisement for a housing project in the district, originally read as HOLLYWOODLAND and was supposed to last for only 18 months, though it was left there because it helped strengthen the extravagant, bigger-than-life image of the place during the Golden Age of Hollywood, when the sign became a globally recognized logo.

It has stood for almost a hundred years and has survived the destructive hands of time, with threats from both mankind and nature. In the 1940s, the sign's caretaker Albert Kothe was driving while under the influence of alcohol and smashed into the 50-foot letter H. The accident damaged the sign, as well as Kothe's Ford Model A, though Kothe escaped injuries. Later in the decade, restoration projects failed to protect the signage from the California weather. It wasn't until 1978 that the Hollywood sign was given a proper reconstructive restoration when a group of donors that included Hugh Hefner and the Warner Bros. Records raised $249,999.93 to give the letters real foundations and steel frames as support. Today, the Hollywood sign stands stongs just like the industry. There are different sites where one can watch the latest Hollywood movies like Black Panther online.

"I'm a huge movie fan and wanted to see Black Panther. This may be one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Of course Marvel movies are sure to be hits and loaded with action but this one was a lot different and much more than an action movie. It had a more soul and character that was an appreciated change from other movies in the genre. I am anxiously awaiting to see what the next chapter of Black Panther and where they decide to go from here."

"I came across this movie one day when I was bored and I decided to watch it. It was amazing. I couldn't believe how good it was. It was sad because the family got separated but the lengths they went too to get back together is so moving. It was sad watching people suffer from that tusnami and seeing those kids ripped away from their parents, but their story was incredibly emotional."
