"Charles Murray is known mostly as a racist troll trying to dress up old-fashioned white supremacism in pseudoscientific language that can get published by mainstream publishers and not, say, by Burning Cross Books. I picked up this book out of morbid curiosity and was surprised that it was less horrible than I expected, although still not particularly original or profound. Sure, some of his advice may well be legibly useful — the culture and expectations of most American offices is not determined by the “Woke” set, for the most part, and cleaning up your speech and look is always good idea. I was also, bluntly, surprised to see a man fromAEI, that bastion of hereditary plutocracy, suggest that at least some of the tragically overprivileged, blazer-bedecked youths who have worked here might have been better served by stints in the service sector. This is likely true, although I suspect that after spending some time subject to zero hours contracts, wage theft and other delights of Late Captialism, many of those youth might not find AEI’s economic royalism quite so appealing or realistic. Now, i’ve Known and been mentored by curmudgeonly older white guys who had real personalities and good hearts lurking under gruff exteriors, and so I know the difference between them and someone like Murray, who puts on an air of gruff wisdom but has nothing underneath it. Is this an alright advice book? Sure. Is it terrible? No. Is it remarkable enough to justify lining the pockets of a pretentious, racist troll whose life has been spent as a troubadour for the investor class and their trust fund brats? NOPE. Pick up some Sean Covey or Scott Peck instead."

"This good is really amazing as an introduction to art and perspective with figure drawing, and it really builds on what you learn in school which can in many cases be less than the basics. It is for the person with an interest in drawing who really wants to perfect and learn about their craft. I would recommend this book to any of my artist friends to have in their libraries and to any budding new artists out there as well, who are interested in figure drawing. It is a must have!"
