"I would say that there are more than one valid responses to best anatomy for artist works. This gets 4.5 stars out of 179 reviews on the Amazon sit but their are other very competitive highly rated competitors. It would seem to me that artist, being of very different levels of development would very much benefit from hands on examination of several. But this one screams very good, super serious and not priced like a collegiate text."

"What is an artist without good anatomy? A bad artist is what that is. Artist must learn how to draw anatomy correctly then they can change it to suit their artistic style without it looking wrong to the naked eye. "

"I've come across a couple of figure drawing books and so far this is one of my favorites. Unlike some figure drawing books, Hampton breaks down concepts in a way that helps you to grasp it. In addition to diagrams, he provides many example drawings for you to observe and emphasizes the importance of gesture throughout the book. He color codes the muscle anatomy, which is really helpful when drawing structures like the arms and legs. This is definitely a must have book for anyone who wants to improve their figure drawing skills or are just learning for the first time."
