So far it has kept me coming back to it to explore further and see how the story will be resolved."

It is a short game, but it is fun to replay the levels because you can take a different route and get upgrades. There's not really a story line but plenty of bad guys to go up against. Harold Alvarez
    Written on January 30, 2017
"It's got some interesting ideas, although I'm not very impressed with the implementation. The first issue is that it's kind of a buggy mess, you can expect to clip through walls and floors and be forced to restart the level. There's no real story either, pretty much just puzzles. It looks pretty nice though, and it can be fun for a little while."

Corpse Party is an indie horror, adventure and RPG game originally created for PSP and was remade for Windows. It follows the story of a curse within a school that takes place during the welcoming of a new student. It was developed by GrisGris.

    Windows, Linux

    Dennis Perry
    Written on September 15, 2017
"Corpse Party is a fairly morbid game that draws from anime, RPGs, and horror survival games. It's an atmospheric game that relies more on creating a creepy vibe than assaulting the audience with jump scares. That said, it's not totally clear if this is the best version of the game - some fans seem to think it's been tampered with, compared to a previous version? Even if that's the case, new fans will probably find this game to be a good introduction to the series."

Deadlight is a scrolling platform and shooter game set at the end of the world. You are one of the few survivors left and must run and escape for your life from the million zombies that are out to get you.

    Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4

    Harry Young
    Written on March 22, 2018
"Deadlight is rather atmospheric and has rather nice graphics as well. It is a little different than the average zombie-related game in that it has heavy platforming elements. This genre typing can mean that the game can feel a little limited in terms of gameplay, but it's clearly an intentional choice and a very core part of the game, so it kind of is what it is. Another specific issue is that the controls can be a little frustrating at times. Overall, it looks very good for an indie game and is fairly creative in terms of the genre in which it chooses to use to tell its story."

    The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is an indie first-person mystery game. You're Paul Prospero, a detective who receives a disturbing letter from Ethan Carter who has vanished in the wake of a brutal murder.

    Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

    Nicholas Black
    Written on September 18, 2017
"The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is not a game for everyone. A term often used here is "walking simulator." It's very much a "story game" - there is not much in the way of intense action, mostly puzzles and story to see. However, the story is fantastic, thoughtful, and dynamic. If you care more about story than action and violence, this game is for you! But if you like your video games with a big helping of gunfire or deep strategy, move on - it's not a bad game, it's just not everybody's thing."

"I think this is a great indie game for Steam, but the link solution is not linking to a steam platform. This solution is linking to Google Play store, which wouldn't solve the Steam platform's issue. The style of the game looks great. It looks like it could be easily played on Steam, but currently the platform displayed is incorrect, which makes this solution to this problem incomplete."

    Beat Cop

Beat Cop is a point-and-click adventure indie game published by 11 bit Studios and developed by Pixel Crow. You are playing as a cop framed for murder and you have to complete various daily tasks.

    Windows, Mac, Linux

    Eugene Barnes
    Written on March 8, 2017
"Yes, Beat Cop is an indie game and it is on Steam, but it is not the only indie game on Steam. I don't understand how "indie games on Steam" is somehow a problem. I know what it means, not that there being indie games on Steam is a problem, but that there aren't any and that's a problem. It's just that it's not. There was Steam Greenlight, now Steam Direct, and that is the solution. Though I'm not fond of its $100 submission fee. Steam Greenlight was better. However, I digress. Beat Cop offers up only one solution. It is not the solution."

I found myself on fire but was able to put it out with water. Then I brought back fire to dry out and warm up. I found that mastering the commanding of the eight elements across the eight keys led to much more game enjoyment."

    #46Papers, Please

    Papers, Please
Papers Please is an indie puzzle game where you play an immigration inspector. Using only the documents provided by travelers and the Ministry of Admission's primitive inspect, you must decide who can enter, who will be turned away, and who will be arrested.

    Windows, Mac, iOS, Linux

    Roy Fernandez
    Written on January 1, 2018
"Papers, Please is truly an argument for video games as art. This is not a game that would work as a movie. This is not a game that would work as a book. It must be played, not seen or read. Once you get into the head of a border guard, demanded to process new and changing information as an endless stream of immigrants ask to get into the country. It starts off simple, but rapidly descends into a fantastic and light-touch story about conspiracy, liberty, and humanity. Do you do your duty? Do you do what's morally right? Do you do what's best for your family? For your country? Do you turn away desperate people? Do you allow in people you can clearly deduce are criminals? Whatever you do... Glory to Arstotzka."

"The big daddy of the new Roguelite wave (arguably, Diablo 1 and its clones were the first roguelite wave). The first game to bring procedural generation, permadeath and a focus on emergent gameplay from classical roguelikes into a platformer. This is the remake, the previous pixelated free version is still available to download on the web, with source code. Utterly perfect game design and level generation, with hilarious emergent moments. Yetis in particular can cause incredible chain reactions."

    The Stanley Parable

Axiom Verge falls into this category and I have enjoyed it immensely while waiting in line or just chilling on the couch. Great Game!"

"This game may very well consume your life. The replay value on Isaac is ridiculous. You can easily put in thousands of hours and still be finding new things. Isaac is a must-play for fans of top-down shooters or rogue-lites. Fair warning though, Isaac is hard. Especially before you learn what items do what, you will probably have a hard time winning, but that's just part of the beauty of the game. Seeing something new, picking it up, seeing how it just changed the game for you and figuring out how to adapt to your ability."

I would probably make the attempt to try the game out first, maybe some sort of trial or find someone who could let me try it out before purchasing. I always try games out before I purchase them because too many times I didn't like the game after I got it. But the topic on this one definitely interests me."

"My brother and I have always been avid gamers and zombie fanatics. So naturally we are always looking for good zombie games beside the big industry ones to check out. We have tried dozens of different indie zombie games that are alright, but honestly they get boring pretty quick. But our love for zombies will not allow us to give up, because we know that zombie gold is out there. And oh boy did we find one of the craziest, most chaotic, yet hilariously whacky zombie games we have ever played. Nature's Zombie Apocalypse is an all-out war to save the world from zombies. But get this... the zombies aren't fighting the human population. No, they're fighting far more beastly creatures than us. They are fighting the whole animal kingdom lol! Ever see a sloth headshot a zombie?? It's hilariously fun. What will a grizzly bear do when a zombie chases him down a street? He will turn around and take out his gun and shoot him right in the head! Overall Nature's Zombie Apocalypse is an amazingly hilarious and fun game for everyone. I think that all zombie fans should check it."

What I didn't like about it was that some parts seemed to be repetitive, as if in a loop or something ("do this", "do that"). Nevertheless, the graphics and fantasy world partially make up for it and definitely worth a look."

It's aggressive and unforgiving which is expected for a survival game but it can sometimes be too much and steer some players away. Regardless, if you're for a challenge and you're okay with the game's excessive trash-talking and antagonizing player's, you're in for quite a brutal ride."

For example, text on the screen is relatively hard to read on certain sized monitors. Furthermore, the gameplay can be quite slow at times, where waiting is required and it takes you out of the immersion of the game."
