Imagine getting summoned to a different world that is so far from your own. This is the kind of imagery that a good Isekai anime will give you. The Japanese word Isekai translates to another world. Isekai anime features a story where characters have to adapt to another world. Whether through transporting, experiencing a rebirth, or getting caught in a parallel universe. A good Isekai anime makes both the characters and new world they come to interesting to watch. Although Isekai anime is a popular genre, finding the top Isekai anime for you takes time. There are loads of Isekai anime to watch which are a combination of classic and contemporary. In Isekai anime you may see a protagonist who ends up getting summoned in a foreign world. Both characters need to learn how to live the ways of their world and deviate it for the better. I mean, what's the point of getting transported to another world if you end up the same?

WHAT'S THE MEANING?

Isekai is a Japanese term which translates to another world. So what is isekai anime? This anime is a sub-genre of Japanese media from light novels, manga, and anime. It describes a story wherein the main character is transported to, reborn or trapped in a parallel universe.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know Isekai anime's first roots can be traced back to Ouke no Monshou, also known as Crest of the Royal Family? This follows teenage girl Carol who is taken back in time to ancient Egypt after the discovery of a tomb. The series is one of the best-selling shoujo manga of all time, which helped pave the future works of isekai. But the genre didn't become well-known until the late '90s. In fact, it wasn't until InuYasha that the isekai genre became popular on a global scale. Not only that, but InuYasha also influenced a generation of creators to follow its lead. Some of isekai anime series are El Hazard, Magic Knight Rayearth, and The Vision of Escaflowne. Furthermore, isekai isn't unique to Japan. There is western literature featuring isekai stories like Alice in Wonderland, Chronicles of Narnia, and Peter Pan. Indeed, isekai is one of the most popular genres today. It looks like it will continue as long as there are people who wish to be transported into fantasy land. No wonder more people are looking for an isekai anime list

"Log Horizon is probably the most unique and the best isekai anime to date. Sure, there are tons of anime featuring characters caught up in a video game fantasy world but this one takes on a different approach. It's a lot more chill and it didn't just focus on one character. It kinda focused on the political system of the fantasy world and they have a large cast of characters 👍"
