Pit is the main character in Kid Icarus. He was a prisoner of the Underworld. After escaping the Underworld, he went on a quest to save Angel Land from Medusa by going after the Three Sacred Treasures. He was successful in freeing Palutena.
Palutena is the Goddess of Light, ruler of Skyworld. She and Medusa (Goddess of Darkness) ruled over Angel Land. She is kind-hearted, benevolent and mischievous. She cared for humanity which puts her at odds with Medusa who loathed humans.
Medusa is the Goddess of Darkness, one of the rulers of Angel Land. She hated humans and made chaos. That’s why Palutena banished her into the Underworld. Medusa vowed to overthrow her so she gathered the Underworld Army to attack Palutena’s army.
Viridi is the Goddess of Nature. She is an 8-year old girl who commands the Forces of Nature army. She believes that humans corrupted the natural order. She's initially an antagonist but becomes Pit's ally.
Dark Pit is an antihero of Pit. He is a representation of Pit's negative feelings. Dark Pit was created by Pandora using the Mirror of Truth but Pit destroyed the mirror as Dark Pit was being created, resulting in a flawed creation.
Hades is the God of the Underworld. He resurrected Medusa and aims to absorb the souls of the departed to strengthen his power. He fought with Pit in the final battle and was vaporized.
Pandora is the Gatekeeper to Skyworld’s Fortress. She is the Goddess of Calamity. She used the Mirror of Truth to create Dark Pit. However, due to the crack in the mirror, a flawed clone was created and she was unable to control it.
Phosphora is a new character introduced in Kid Icarus: Uprising. She is a gorgeous and powerful warrior specializing in electricity-based attacks with moves as fast as lightning. She has the power to create massive storms and tornadoes.
Hewdraw is a long-necked serpent-like dragon who is the commander of the Underworld Army. He leads the assault on Skyworld. He is also the Gatekeeper of the Overworld’s Fortress and guardian of one of the Three Sacred Treasures.
