"'ve had it for less than 8 months and it already freezes on me while I play League of Legends (frozen to the point where it doesn't even respond to ctrl-alt-del), an ancient game any modern non-gaming laptop shouldn't have problems running. It also freezes while viewing the web. Not on pages using high amounts of javascript or with tons of data like YouTube. Just pages with a few ads and some text that my 2005 laptop has no problems loading or navigating. I am not impressed with Asus and I will never buy an Asus product again."

"Having tried many Dells before, I started with low expectations. I'm pleased to say that it's much better than I expected. I haven't experienced any lag. Games play well. Internet browsing is smooth. "

"As a computer programmer, I would recommend this laptop as long as you have another external drive. This laptop has plenty of RAM and a good processor. The 256GB SSD is great for being mobile, but as you progress through your projects and knowledge, you will want a larger hard drive to back files up to. The best thing about an SSD hard drive is the boot up time, it literally takes seconds and you're up and running! Another bonus is the keyboard layout. The keys are spaced out, and as a programmer that helps a ton since we all know one improperly placed stroke causes us to debug for hours!"

"With a 13.3-inch screen, this is a very small laptop. Any programmer or coder is going to be hunched over and squinting at their work using this computer. The i5 processor was adequate a couple years ago, but will most likely lag with today's more complex coding needs. For $873 - which is less than $1K - you only get 128 GB of hard drive. This probably is not enough space for programming. All in all, this laptop might have been the "best laptop for coding and programming under 1000 US dollars" a couple years ago, but it would be a headache to use it for this purpose today."

"The Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM is solid laptop for well under the $1000 price point. I would say this laptop is geared more to home and basic use, and may be stretching a bit to handle the demands of coding and programming. Some users have expresses concern about processing speed."

"This is a good solution to the topic. For started this Dell computer hits the under $1000 budget. When it comes to coding and programming it is hard to call it the best. While someone can do that on this computer it may not be the best for that since it is a personal preference. The reviews are also a little mixed as well. "
