"The Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition may be a popular laptop choice for the regular consumer, but in terms of Linux users, who tend to be a bit more advanced, there is no reason to overpay and get this laptop that doesn't have as powerful or advanced of a chip as other machines. There are plenty of options available for Linux users that easily top what the Dell XPS 13 offers."

"It was a neat idea but most Linux diehards are not going to be lured in with cheap gimmicks that supposedly add functionality. We already have our best ways to operate our machines and these little add-ons unfortunately just get in the way. I do not recommend."

"Depending on the type of computer you are looking to use, this might not be the best one. I was looking for a more affordable option, as this model is being sold for almost $2000, which I feel like I could find one that will work for me that is a bit cheaper. Depending on what you need it for and what you will be doing on it though, this laptop might be the one for you!"

"Great laptop but the price mark is kind of expensive for it to be a refurbished laptop. I love the fact that is a convertible laptop and you can even bend it to make it into a tablet."

"As somebody that has experience using Linux, Windows and OS, I can definitely say, that this is not a good solution since Apple has their own operating system that works the best with their hardware. It's not impossible though. You can run a virtualization software to make it work but the MacBook is definitely not the best laptop for Linux. For somebody that is not tech savvy, this solution is not helpful since it does not even tell you if Linux would work on a Macbook."

"This is a great laptop for young professionals and college students. It's highly functional and has a lot of processing power for multiple programs. I have to use mine in a business setting as well as online classes and this does well on both ends. It's not too large though it's pretty fast and can keep up with a multitude of tasks and heavy programs that tie up the memory. So far I haven't had any real problems with this laptop and it's always been reliable especially with its long battery life. If you're looking for a good quality laptops then I highly recommend getting this one."

"The MacBook Pro MPXT2LL/A is certainly a top of the line laptop, however, those focused on Linux developing may want to explore other options. It may be possible to install Linux on the MacBook depending on the model you receive, and some workarounds have been put in place. Other laptops may be better suited to assist you. This MacBook Pro, is nonetheless, a great option for basic computing needs at all levels."

" Do not ever buy brand-specific or Branded laptops for Linux. Ever. Don't do it. You WILL run into driver issues. You WILL run into processing limitations. You WILL run into app crashes, incompatabilities, and massive, soul-grinding disappointment. If you insist on laptopping Linux, choose from the plethora of more generic or lower-branded offerings."

"Alienware has always been a rough and sturdy laptop that I recommend. It's highly upgradable and not only great for developers, but gamers too. It's a bit pricey up front but it is made of superior hardware. With the 1TB hard drive, you'll have plenty of room to install Linux over the Windows or even replace the Windows 10."
