"The ASUS K501UW is a fantastic system! Built partly as a gaming rig, this is also great for software engineering students who need a powerful graphics card to run programs like CAD or encode video. I used it for that purpose in college (and, well, maybe also gaming). This is a professional design, not a grandiose toy like some gaming brands such as Alienware make. A real value!"

"I got this laptop before I set off for college to get my degree in software engineering. This laptop doesn't exactly lead the pack in any stat, but it holds it's own in all them. I appreciate the display size so I can keep track of all the code I'm working on and the 12 hour battery life isn't anything to be mad about. However, the 4GB of ram and lack of solid state drive can slow my work down and at times that keeps assignments from getting completed as fast as I'd like."
