"NOTE: this review is recommended for longtime Alchemist fans. While it is always a thrill to consume new Alchemist fare, this new entry felt disappointingly rushed from the beginning. I expect the author was intimidated by the prestige of the actual Fullmetal manga, and crumbled under the pressure. The visuals are lackluster, the story is OK but seemed thin and hurried to print, not based on anything in the mythology. I read mostly because, well, it’s Fulmetal and it features the Elric brothers!"

"I was trying so hard to like this. I loved the manga. But this was sooooo trite and slow to get into that I just couldn't do it. I ended up deciding life is too short and put it away about 1/2 way through. I'm disappointed, it could've been so much more!"

"I really wasn't a big fan of this. I wanted a light novel I could enjoy in my free time, and this falls pretty close to the mark, but it just isn't my style exactly. There isn't anything wrong with it, but I'd like something a little more mature."

"Any novel with a character named "Full Metal Bitch" is bound to be awesome. All You Need Is Kill, is. The rather poor movie with Tom Cruise that somewhat aped this doesn't even remotely capture the joy reading provides."
