"This is a pretty creative and intriguing book in my eyes. I'm not sure I'd call it the best, but it's certainly worth every penny you spend on it. If the plot intrigues you at all then I say dive on in, you won't regret it."

"Gamer for Life is an "okay" installation in the LitRPG genre. You could do better and you could do worse. It succeeds in having interesting characters who you will enjoy spending time with. But the story is somewhat lacking in cohesiveness. If this is your first foray into LitRPG I would recommend you begin elsewhere."

This book is a great read for anyone who has any interest in Role Playing Games and easy to read funny books. Even if you are not an RPG fan, you’ll enjoy reading this book. I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series and I will check out what else he has written very soon. "

"One of the main turnoffs in a book is if it's written in 1st person perspective. 99% of the time it's because the author doesn't want to do the work to build a world and fleshed out characters and plot."

"Very specialized, obviously, but it does the job. I bought it for my brother-in-law who is an avid gamer and a serious player of World of Darkness and he was really happy with it. He had actually asked for it so I was not taking any risk there. Still happy he liked it so much though. He tell s me it's incredibly detailed and a font of knowledge for serious gamers. It has apparently all the information one needs to navigate the complex aspect of armament in WoD. He tells me it gave him a n edge over other players - I think he read it a bunch of times and it's become a pillow book for him, more of less. For the hardcore gamer in your life."

I like the fact that the stories are broke down into ghost themes such as one set in a real ghost town and another being a haunted house. They have been done before but this gives a fresh approach."

"MYSTERIOUS PLACES is a supplement to the core book WORLD OF DARKNESS, commonly called the "mortals" line. This means that the material is not specific to any particular supernatural race but can be used with any of them, or be part of a non-supers story. I think of MYSTERIOUS PLACES and its companion books, ANTAGONISTS, and GHOST STORIES as Storyteller aids; they have characters, places, or storylines that you can drop into your current chronicle either as something to do when things get slow (as one writer put it, "when the plot seems to be going nowhere, have men with guns burst into the room") or as story seeds to get your own creative juices going."
