"West Side Story is a classic for a reason, and if you're looking for a great love story, you still can't do better than this reworking of Romeo and Juliet set in 1960s New York. Maria makes a charming "Juliet," and her star-crossed love is sweet and tragic. There are also some entertaining musical numbers, particularly "America." A great tragic love story."

"At a cocktail party I was at the other night one of my friends posed the question, "what's the best movie with a love story." After much deliberation between friends I decided to see what I could find on Amazon. To my surprise, the first movie at the top of the list was Casablanca. Most everyone in the group were surprised and had forgotten about that movie. However, everyone agreed that might just be one of the best love stories of all time."

"My girlfriend wanted to watch a love story for date night, and I was tasked with trying to find one. A friend recommended Out of Africa which is an old romantic drama which is critically acclaimed. My girlfriend loved the movie but for me, this was the most painful three hours of my life. I will never ask my friend for a recommendation for a movie again."

"This is a classic and timeless love story. I could certainly see how some might say it's one of the best of all time. With that said, I find it difficult to believe as it's so unrealistic. Also, it's pretty gross when you really think about it. I would avoid and find something more down to earth."

"This is a classic love story marathon for the "eat chocolate and stare at the screen with throbbing hearts" crowd. Not my cup of tea, but the acting was good and I had a few heart pitter patters here and there. Did not eat chocolate though. Maybe next time. "

"A book that has almost a cult following, a wonderful tale of nineteenth century British culture. The author is able to make you care about the characters in a way that many modern authors still marvel at. A hundred pages in and you won't want to put it down. A masterpiece that you will not want to end. "

I had never heard of it but any movie with Ryan Gosling has my vote as of at least a movie that I will pay attention to. I watch it, I cried, I laughed, I ended up getting the soundtrack and crying again. Really great movie and I would say it was the best love story of all time!"

"As far as love stories go, me and my friends think that the US ones can't get love right. It misses something, I am not sure what but it always have to be filled with the same story over and over again. Look at Hallmark movies, it's basically the formula of "Girl with problem + Guy that can fix the problem + Girl hates the guy because she's too independent + someone has a kid + Hijinx = Love" So we looked into Korean movies and found Castaway on the Moon and it's so different and good! "I think while this could qualify as a love story, it is not one of the best of all time. The story is dated and upholds the righteous man protects his woman theme that was so popular in the 1950's and 60's. This is definitely a movie that would benefit from a modern version, but even then it is not one of the best love stories of all time. "
