What are the best Marvel comics events that could be adapted into films?

Marvel comic books have been a source of fascination for fans of all ages. Throughout the years, we have seen the best storylines and snippets that form part of our Marvel superheroes' lives. Then came the Marvel Cinematic Universe which has further advanced the success of the franchise, this time on the big screen. We have all loved The Avengers, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the whole roster of MCU movies throughout their respective fascinating runs. By looking back at the amazing films that Marvel has created, we probably have seen it all. From famous battles and character deaths and resurrections, the franchise has played its storylines well.

You might be thinking that the creators behind those amazing flicks have run out of ideas for their next superhero project. However, by looking at the tons of Marvel comic book collections that avid fans have kept, we might get an answer. For sure, we already have our favorite Marvel comic book storylines to ever exist. Imagine seeing those plots come to life in theaters. Their movies have a history of taking the best out of written plots and Marvel comics characters to create a masterpiece out of them. So in the future, no one should be surprised to see a lot of paperback-inspired content to be shown in cinemas. Just as we might potentially see with upcoming Disney+ show Wandavision, which was inspired by Marvel comics, the big screen is waiting for something more. In this list, we have some of the best Marvel comics events that they could adapt to films. Yes, cinematic inspiration may come up short for some franchises, but definitely not for Marvel.

  1. 1The Coming of Galactus

The arrival of one of Marvel's most doomed villains is something that can become dramatic when given focus in a certain movie. Seeing this comic book storyline unfold through 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer wasn't enough to make sense of the actual magnitude of the villain's wrath. Marvel can surely focus on 'The Coming of Galactus' much better if it were to be shown on an MCU full-length movie. Seeing the Fantastic Four battle it out with this purple space giant in such a way would make Stan Lee proud for sure.

  1. 2Dark Reign

This Marvel comics storyline could lead to one of the best good guys vs. bad guys films of all. In the Dark Reign period, we can all see the new team of Avengers as created by Spider-Man's nemesis, Norman Osborne. Although loads of foundation and casting work is going to be required for something as big as this, an adaptation of this storyline can lead to an epic battle scene that could equal that one seen in Avengers: Endgame.

  2. 3Acts of Vengeance

With its plot starting with a disguised Loki trying to convince some Marvel supervillains to destroy the Avengers, what else could be a better Marvel story than this crossover comic story? By supervillains here, we mean Doctor Doom, the Kingpin, Magneto, the Mandarin, the Red Skull, and the Wizard. How often would you get to see the Avengers and The Fantastic Four face off against opponents they know little about? Seeing this event on the big screen would surely draw the attention of die-hard MCU junkies.

  1. 4The Marvel Illuminati

If you have ever imagined Mister Fantastic, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Namor, Black Bolt, and Professor X being together in one group, then you aren't far off. These bigshot Marvel names have been in a secret group that appeared in 2005's New Avengers #7 comics. Of course, seeing these amazing heroes as they are on this premise would be mind-blowing. Just imagine how a film with them on it would take over the box-office.

  2. 5Nothing can stop the Juggernaut

'Nothing can stop the Juggernaut' deserves to be more than a two-part comic book storyline, as it has been in Amazing Spider-Man #229-230. Marvel die-hards will surely spend a huge chunk of their time dissecting the backstory of Cain Marko himself in a more expounded medium, just like cinema. Aside from being Professor X's stepbrother, we surely want to explore more of his battles with the X-Men while having a self-titled production on the headlines.
