"I'm not a big fan of the MX Player. It does offer some nice features but I've found the same features plus more using VLC player. MX player doesn't offer the same codecs that are absolutely crucial for playing different media file types. Plus, it's only available for android devices, so you have to use a different product at home on your PC or laptop."

"A little bit ugly in the design department but overall, this is a heavy hitter in a small package. Supports all of the big boy file formats the default apps don't. MKV 60 fps support alone makes this app well worth it."

"VLC plays almost anything that you throw at it. It even handles my 3D videos very well with my VR headset. Add the capability to play most music formats and you have an all around media player. The media library menu could be a bit more flexible, listing music separately from videos, but other than that, a great media app."
