"I've been reading this book over the past week and I'm surprised because I didn't expect too much from this author I've never heard of. I love space operas and I'm hard to please in this regard but every turn of the page has kept me entertained the whole way through. This is such a great read, you owe it to yourself to read this if this is your genre."

"By itself, it's a pretty good hard sci-fi book. Fast paced, carefully considered world. But its real value comes from introducing the world of the On Silver Wings series and superior stories like The Valhalla Call."

"I distinctly remember how I came to read this great book. My grampa was a big reader and basically stored a library worth of books at his home. After watching star wars, my little sister became enamored by the sci-fi genre and wanted a book with a powerful woman like Princess Leia. My grampa knew just the thing and put this book into my sister's hands. Naturally, I was bugged into having to read it too, as it was her favorite book. It's a book about rivals being forced to work together and that leads them to form a strong relationship capable of withstanding anything. Naismith and Vorkosigan are both powerful and compelling characters that almost force you to keep reading and reading until you finish the book in one or two sittings. I greatly recommend starting your adventure in the world of "Shards of Honor!""

"I enjoy science fiction, especially when they're very diverse. The video game Mass Effect let me pick Commander Shepard as a strong female lead, and I want to explore that line of storytelling much more. I checked out Valor's Choice, as it also featured a strong female military leader in space. It came very highly recommended, and I can see why! This is definitely a series I'll be continuing to read."
