DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that the popular game Minecraft was created in just six days? You've read that right! Minecraft creators Markus Persson, also known as Notch, developed the game's first version in less than a week. On May 10, 2009, he began creating a game that allows free and organic exploration of the virtual world. Persson came up with the idea of a sandbox game to launch his then-new company, Mojang AB. By May 16, he already finished the alpha version of the well-loved game which debuted the next day. Despite technically finishing the game in less than a week, it took two more years for the Swedish programmer and designer to fully complete it. Mojang would update the game until the company released its full version in 2011.
It wasn't very long until Minecraft became one of the most popular games in and out of the United States. This is probably because of its loyal fan base who offered free marketing by sharing the game to their friends. Some players discovered the game through gaming YouTube channels that stream Minecraft game plays. Furthermore, was easily loved by kids due to its child-friendly design and a wide variety of game mods to fit their imagination. What is your favorite Minecraft mod?
