DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that a World of Warcraft server reached a login queue of almost 10,000 players? 25 years after the World of Warcraft's launch, Blizzard Entertainment released a classic version of what is regarded as one of the best MMORPGs. First announced at BlizzCon 2017, the new server option will recreate the game even before its first expansion - Burning Crusade. Fast forward to over one week before the server's launching. Blizzard started to open the game for in-game name reservations. Since then, things start to get a little too exciting for fans.
Are 10,000 players too much for a WoW server? Unfortunately, yes. Kaivax, the game's community manager has released an overcrowded realm update on August 17, 2019. It says that the Herod realm of the World of Warcraft Classic server is looking to be "massively overpopulated". Kaivax also said in the statement that Blizzard eyes login queues exceeding 10,000 players if players won't consider to the Stalagg realm. Being one of the first successful MMOs in the world, WoW has become the inspiration of some of the online multiplayer games. There had also been private servers of the game that has different features than the original WoW servers. Contrary to what has become the argument of critics and players, MMORPG games are not dead yet. The genre is continuously growing and looks forward to more games from developers.
