The "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" Season 7 trailer is everything that we thought it would be and more. It marks the end of the Republic and the end of the Jedi. It's only right seeing as, by the end of Season 7, the show needs to catch up till the end of the prequel trilogy. That's why the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 1 until the end has quite a few crossover moments with Revenge of the Sith. Those moments might seem familiar to anyone who's watched Episode III. Aside from that, a huge part of Clone Wars Season 7 is a flashback to some key moments that could be directly related to The Mandalorian Season 2. It's safe to assume that The Clone Wars end just as Chancellor Palpatine executed Order 66 and created the Empire. Season 7 will have all the chronicles of the time leading up to Order 66. Another big crossover moment related to the Mandalorian involves the Siege of Mandalore. It happens to be one of the final battles of the Clone Wars. Ahsoka Tano along with clone captain Rex led troopers on a mission to capture Darth Maul. At the time, Maul had taken control of Mandalore through a puppet leader Prime Minister in Almec. It would be interesting to see if we do get a glance of the infamous "Night of a Thousand Tears" that was referenced in The Mandalorian Season 1. Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 release date is right around the corner. To keep you amped up for the premiere, we made a list of the best moments of the season 7 that you can check out right here!
The Clone Wars season 7 trailer switches through several fast-paced action shots that for the most part lack context. However, the final shot is probably the most important one of all. Ashoka can be seen standing on an elevated platform while she stares down Rex who's on the ground. All of a sudden a door closes, locking them both inside. This tells us that Ahsoka may have survived Order 66 and that she's taken Rex prisoner to get to the bottom of things.
The Clone Wars Season 7 trailer leads up to the confrontation between Ahsoka and Darth Maul. This is exact moment is happening while Mace Windu confronts Chancellor Palpatine on Coruscant. The fight would eventually be interrupted by Order 66. It would be interesting to see how Ashoka and Darth Maul survive. Given Ashoka's history of striking uneasy truces, she may well work together with the Sith Lord for them to escape Mandalore.
Fans are about to get really hyped because "Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7" finally features the siege of Mandalore. The Republic owed this to be a moment of liberation for Mandalore but instead, it left it in ruins. As the Republic slowly evolved into the Empire, Mandalore fell under the control of another Sith Lord, Darth Sidious. This is quite similar to the tragic irony of the last great battle of the Clone Wars.
A recurring villain in the Clone Wars series, Admiral Trench is a Harch naval commander who was one of the Separatists' premier strategists. The trailer hints that this is the moment where Anakin finally gets to kill Admiral Trench just as Filoni had suggested. The character design and costume of Obi-Wan and Anakin in the series are fairly identical to the ones in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.
One of the most interesting scenes in the Clone Wars season 7 trailer featured Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu surrounded by Trade Federation Battle Droids. It appears that the Republic's offensive plan went awry and has gotten these two Jedi Masters trapped. Of course, they can certainly escape the situation given their abilities. Still, it's interesting to see how they wound up in that situation in the first place.
