"I am a programmer and I needed something fast and with a long battery life. This has both! I've run the battery down by using CAD programs and it's lasted a decent 4-5 hours with huge files open. It's also incredibly fast and I've only had it slow down on me once or twice, once again with huge files open. I have had no problem working on this computer, it handles a huge work load"

"I'm not a fan of Apple products. I think everything they produce are way overpriced and at their price range noticeably better offers can be found from the rival companies. That being said, I still respect the Macbook Pro series and see some benefits of using Mac OS for programming purposes. This specific model however, is not the top of the line laptop from the company, hence it is not the most powerful as of now."

"This is not a powerful laptop whatsoever, much less the best. I would steer clear away from this one for programming as it only has an Intel i3 processor and only 4GB of RAM. This computer would be good for a teenager doing their homework or a college student writing a term paper. I wouldn't recommend it for doing hardcore programming. Maybe light web developing, but even then if you had a long PHP file that you'd written, the computer may be slow to refresh."

"The Dell i755-763BLK is a midline gaming computer that will fit your needs and more; while it might not be above $1000, it still delivers thousand-dollar performance for a pricetag that's less. The SSD allows it to have fast boot times, the ram helps graphics perform admirably, the battery life is nothing to scoff at, and all the while, the processing speed ties it all together. It's a solid laptop that provides a bang for your buck - and, on top of that, the hardware is upgradable. The only negative is that you have to update the drivers yourself upon unboxing, but that's not a deal-breaker by any means. "

"The i7 Processor here ensures that you'll never lag on even the toughest programming tasks. I ran an overnight benchmark calculating extremely large prime numbers and my CPU was still at a cool 53 degrees Celsius thanks to the integrated cooling system. The 512mb SSD ensures a blazing fast startup time and if you care about gaming, the graphics card is good enough to run most current gen games at High settings. I highly recommend this laptop for programming and all other tasks."

"To give a little background, I pre-ordered this laptop after doing a sizable amount of research on several different laptops that fit my general needs and it arrived on the 15th of November (I've had it for about two weeks now). My brother owns the HP-Spectre 2-in-1 and a couple of friends own older models of the HP-ENVY-15. The large majority of my friends have MacBooks. That being said, these are the machines I will be comparing it to in order to give a general feel for the laptop. Sorry for the long review, but since the product is new I'd like to give my own personal opinion that isn't a "get a free product to give us 5 stars" type of review."

"This is my first MacBook Pro and it is amazing. It is a powerful laptop that can handle pretty much whatever you throw at it. As a web designer, I use it for programming and multimedia editing. The quality built, bright crisp sceen, Multi-Touch bar, and slim light weight design make this a very functional computer that is a pleasure to use. I have had no problems with it so far."
