"2001: A Space Oddesey is your classic film about humans and machine. Machines are often depicted as objective-oriented while disregarding human factors like emotions. HAL 9000 is a scary fellow because it would rather jeopardize the lives of the crew to carry out the mission. HAL eventually showed human weaknesses as it gets disconnected. Here's the question: are we ready to depend on pragmatic AIs?"

"Other than the future tech of predicting crimes, Minority Report explores free will against determinism. Sure, they can predict who would commit a crime via science but they never accounted for errors like false, implanted memories. I firmly believe that free will still exist despite the predetermined paths calculated by science. The film is a good mental exercise of philosophy and ethics."

"It's explicitly about the hostile occupation of Africa by giant companies who wants to milk their natural resources. Fortunately, nature triumphs over technology as the natives of Pandora overpower them with brute force. Yeah, and the tech that truned Jake Sully into a furry alien? The tech helped him realized his true nature and overcome his disability. It's still nature over tech in the end."

"Blade Runner, the film that greatly influenced all sci-fi media, from games to comics and anime. It's hard to imagine a world without Blade Runner. Maybe media will deviate in a different path, possibly a non-technology ideology. Sci-fi media like Blade Runner help us question ethics and possibilities of when technology should stop from overtaking humanity."

"The Matrix has a messy setup about technology and destiny. They fight technology with technology, at the same time believes in a prophecy that can't be explaind by science. Heck, the heavy allegory of Neo as a Christ figure is soo ingrained heavily. The Matrix even borrowed inspiration from Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell."

"Have you noticed that Iron Man implicated the dangers of weaponizing technologies? Look at the terrorists and even Iron Monger coercing Tony Stark to use his tech for bad. Tony also began in the film as an arms dealer and getting blown by his own tech. That's when he realized he has to use his tech for the good."

"I perceive Gattaca as a fascist nightmare because of gene determinism. This what happens when science takes over human factors. They trample free will and dreams which constitutes humanity. I believe we should never forget being human in the midst of technological advancement."

"As a Trekkie, I love the ideals of Star Trek: A future full of possibilities, rich diversity, free from restrictions of economy and race, and advance technology for everybody's benefit. Star Trek's first movie showed us a more optimistic view of the future."

"What makes us human? This is one of the questions raised in Ghost in the Shell. As technology advances, the line between humans and machines is starting to blur out. I wish the philio part of Ghost in the Shell will not turn off any potential fans."
