"This movie was just amazing. The small town setting really helped amp up the plot and I could really relate to Mildred so much that I could actually feel her pain and suffering through the screen. Frances McDormand is an amazing actress and I really liked what the other cast members brought to the table as well."

"Oh man. This film has it all. Mountains, rugged men, an isolated place. I loved this film when I was younger and I appreciate the more technical and I guess "film" aspect of it. The wild and isolated setting made it more interesting and more "dated" or old and that gave a really nice touch to it all."

"Oh such a classic film this is! It's about friendship and it still is great even now that I'm an adult watching it! Living in a small town can be really an experience for kids, and having grown up in such a town myself, I know the feeling of finding best friends in unusual circumstances. "

"Ahh this film was practically an indie-type film that made it big time. The country small town setting of the story made it more whimsical and more dreamlike, and much more summertime fling-y in a way. It was a really wonderful film about exploration and growing up. "

"Run, Forrest! Run! What an amazing and inspirational movie this was! I loved the setting of a small town as it made the movie and the story much more intimate. I watched this with my kids and I do hope they found it as memorable as I did when I first watched it!"

"Carrie is such an iconic movie and what really takes it that extra step further is its setting. Everything that happened was in a small town and so it takes the creepiness and weirdness factor of the whole thing up a good notch. "

"The small town setting in this movie didn't play an exceptionally big part in the whole picture but I liked that it was a grounding element for Johnny Cash and showed his roots. Interesting movie as well."

"Everyone knows and loves E.T., I'm sure. I think it was a nice touch that it was set in a small town, otherwise, it wouldn't be quite as believable as it was, especially for children. "
