"This film follows the tradition of the original Exorcist movie. It is quite scary. But I don't know, it feels like the scary parts are tuned down and the surprise and shocking factors were increased. The original Exorcist had that balance that's what made it great. Emily Rose is a great movie in its own right especially if you haven't watched the original. Oh yeah, i don't mean to say that it isn't scary. I lost sleep too. Hahaha"

"College students trapped in a compromising situation? Everyone goes crazy? No one's expected to survive? Sounds familiar? It should. It is a recurring theme in modern scary movies. I am not saying the recent movies were based on this premise but I am saying that The Evil Dead is one scary movie that would make you want to sleep with your parents or siblings."

"I literally wasn't able to sleep after watching this movie. I mean, I know what to expect and I still got surprised and shocked and scared and terrified and horrified. If those feelings allowed you to sleep after watching Hills Have Eyes, I salute you but I will also advise you to see a shrink or something. Great solution, this!"

"The Exorcist is the scariest movie of all time. At least, this movie is that for me. I survived those movies listed on this list, (I got scared of Conjuring though). I hope people today can watch this movie so that they can see the difference between a classic movie like Exorcist and the ones Hollywood is doing these days."

"I am not a fan of foreign language film but Ju-on changed my view. The movie is not only scary, it really has a solid storyline. Also, it was steeped in Japanese legends and I learned a lot from the show. Now I have been scouring foreign language movies not just for horror flicks, but any kind of movies. It's fun!"

"Not as scary as the other movies on this list but it is terrifying enough to be included. It wasn't the scary parts that robbed me of sleep. It was the gory parts in the film. Cannibals, I hate them. They're like zombies. Zombies are tolerable but cannibals, I don't dig them. Makes my stomach turn."

"The Conjuring is ranked number one here for a reason. It is scary and scary good. This is also probably James Wan's best films. While he has a lot of box-office hits, this one is completely bonkers, terrifying. I wasn't able to sleep for months."
