"The Last Samurai is one of the best samurai movies ever, if not the best. It offers a glimpse into the Japanese culture and tradition, and about the life of a true Japanese warlord Moritsugu Katsumoto. Of course, having Tom Cruise play the lead role doesn't hurt as he gave one of the better performances in his career in this movie. "

"If it's about the best of the best ninja and samurai movies, Ninja Scroll should be on the list. While it is an animated flick with 90's animation tech, it still is one of the better movies ever produced. And if you think about it, even The Wachowski brothers admitted that Ninja Scroll was one of their influence and inspiration on their mega-hit movie, The Matrix. "

"I loved the manga. I loved the anime adaptation. Is it surprising that I love this film as well? The film tells a pretty accurate depiction of that era. The samurai fight-scenes are topnotch. Great, great movie. Takeru Satoh also did a good job of portraying Kenshin Himura."

"The film is subbed and not dubbed and I didn't mind it one bit. I'm not really a fan of subbed movies but Kyoto Inferno really got me hooked. I liked the first Kenshin live-action movie and it's the only reason why I watched this second installment. I honestly thought that the Samurai fight scenes in the first movie were so impressive that the film-makers would have problems maintaining its quality, much less surpass it. But heck, Kyoto Inferno proved me wrong and obviously came out a better film all around. Kudos. "

"They say it's another film that Hollywood white-washed with Keanu Reeves taking the lead role. But I'll say that this plot worked. The story worked. The Samurai fight scenes worked. Overall, the movie is a great alternate re-telling of a famous Japanese tale and I loved it."

"And so the Legend Ends. And what a fitting end this is. I thought I would have to travel to Japan to get a copy of the Rurouni Kenshin. But this site saved me the trouble and allowed me to purchase all three movies without leaving my seat! This Kenshin series is my all-time samurai movies and not just because it has good fight scenes. I loved it because it stayed true to the manga and the anime adaptation."

"Well, I learned about the Shinsengumi while watching Rurouni Kenshin (which by the way is included in this list and I am not surprised). So I searched for a movie involving the Shinsengumi and I got redirected to this site. I was surprised to find it in this list and was glad that it did. While the movie is a bit pricey for an old samurai, I'll say it is worth every penny. Mifune slays everyone (pardon the pun). Great, great movie."
