"In the "me too" era, this classic book is worth a second look. The women in this novel are strong and can serve as powerful role models for girls of today looking to make a difference for their gender. I read this for the first time as part of a women's lit class, and maybe it was the class discussion or maybe it was the book that I enjoyed more -- but either way, I learned a lot and was happy to explore the daring Ms. Alcott showed over a hundred years ago."

"There have been a million Frankenstein movies and probably even more books that have ripped off the original. But it's worth reading the original by Mary Shelley to see where all those came from. It's really an incredibly well-written book and the theme was a masterpiece of human emotion that's rarely been matched."
