"This is modern rewriting of a Jane Austen classic that is very pleasurable and well written. In this McCall Smith version , the character John Knightley rides a Ducati and is a fashion photographer. In this version, Emma is a small town girl who drives a mini cooper and is an interior designer. She matures and sees that she doesn't always know what is best for everyone . Great job on this retelling. Highly recommend this author."

"I think this is a very thought provoking book. You usually don't see such things from a mans perspective. I think it is a good read to help women understand men a little better especially when it comes to their grieving process. It also shows the healing strength of music."

"This has to be one of the worst books I have ever attempted to read. I say attempted, because I simply could not get through it. The writing was way over the top with some of the most strained metaphors I have ever seen. The characters were unlikable, and frankly the plot was stolen straight from Twilight. "

"Miss Marple always delivers a good mystery and this is no exception. As hard as I tried to put the clues together to figure out who did it, I could never get it right. The ending surprised me and her ability to solve the crime is amazing."

"I truly enjoy dystopian fiction and this was recommended to me by a friend. It is ayoung adult style novel and the setting is not what you usually expect a dystopian world to be. It is full of romance and beauty, politics and classes. The character depth and story line is there though so as long as you can get past the non-typical dystopia than you might really enjoy this one."
