"If you haven't read the Hunger Games by now, why not? We love it in our family! We've been preppers for awhile now, before they even started featuring other families on National Geographic's show. It's hard to explain to the kids about why survival is important, but with Ms. Collins' excellent novel, we've been able to really drill it into their heads that a little hardship can bring great reward."

"This is an excellent book. It might seem disturbing, and it is, very much so. But it is about the fight to survive in even the most appalling conditions. It is about using every resource at your disposal to find a way through, and becoming capable of things that seemed impossible. It is about coming alive on the edge of annihilation."

"I purchased the trilogy after watching the first two movies simply to find out how the story ends. It was easy for me to visualize the characters and scenes - thanks to the two movies. Of course, after completing the first two books in the series, I was able to learn more about the individual characters, their backgrounds and the reasons behind the unrest in the various districts...seems like the movies barely scratched the surface. Kitness, Peeta and Gale are portrayed as fearless victors, ready to lead the revolt. I was anxious to get into the final book to see how it all comes together."

"This book would be interesting if it was just a story of survival, though I am admittedly afraid the dog will die. I just think a revenge plot is hard to do without being very cliche. I can't imagine the revenge makes it more interesting. Think how The Revnant just feels convoluted because the character shouldn't really want revenge that much. That's the same as this story. "
