Admired by the ancient Greek poets, one should have definitely got their hands on Homer's The Odyssey. It serves as the canon work in literature in which every man's journey through life was carefully and creatively narrated.

"This is probably the best translation of The Odyssey. Since most people had to read this book in high school at some point, this is a good book to go back over for clarification or just to re-read."

"I remember having to read this book in middle school, because it was considered a essential read for students. Back then I was not impressed by the book, but two weeks ago decided to purchase it to see if anything had changed and I am happy to say I was wrong about this book. I was too young to under the level of complexity in this book, but now I understand. This book really impressed me due to its satire of racism and its willingness to question the ethics of that time. I finished the books in a couple of days, but I constantly thought about it."

At the same time it's written simply - I'm guessing it's on a 3rd or 4th grade reading level. Beautiful illustrations from Garth Williams in this edition. "

"It was a quiet weekend. I was home alone and a bit bored. However, I was tired from the work week and did not feel like being that productive. I decided to read a book, but not my usual genre. I chose to read a fictional novel that is based around a journey as the plot. I chose to read the Phantom Tollbooth. It was a wonderful book full of adventure, wonder, and excitement. It was a perfect addition to my weekend."
