"I've been learning how to use MySql to build databases at work. I'm really intrigued by HeidiSql, a free tool that gives users the ability to import text files, create handsome databases and tables, and export these in a number of different formats. The only downside for me is that use of HeidiSQL is restricted to all but the newest Mac operating systems. As a dedicated Mac user at home, I'm sad that I can't take full advantage of this amazing tool. "

"phpMyAdmin is a decent piece of software to manage your SQL database but it required a lot of other software installed such as a web server, php and such. It's too much work and just easier to use another direct client to manage your SQL databases."

"Aqua Data Studio is not my favorite. For one thing, it is only free for 14 days (random), and it has nothing that any of the free programs don't. As a big proponent of free and open-source material, I was not very satisfied with this. From a Windows standpoint, specifically, MySQL Workbench or phpMyAdmin are far superior choices. Why would you spend $499 per user when you can do it all for free?"

"Querious was quite useful when we brought it on. Our company works a decent amount with databases, though they're not our primary objective. As a result, we have people of varying skill on our team and many are not comfortable with sql syntax or output. Querious has helped us be more efficient by allowing some of our less experienced users be a lot more productive, since they are more comfortable with the GUI."
