Naruto is a manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto that was first released back in August 1997. The series tells the story of a young ninja named Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto always tries his best to get the attention and recognition of his peers. He also happens to have the dream of becoming Hokage, a title bestowed upon the leader of the village. Naruto's story is divided into two parts. The first half is set in his pre-teen years as he trains to become a ninja. The second half focuses on his teenage years when faces all the struggles and challenges of what it truly means to be a ninja. The series is based on Kishimoto's two previous one-shot mangas, Karakuri and Naruto back in 1995 and 1997 respectively.

Naruto was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1999 to 2014 across 72 volumes. It was adapted into an anime TV series by Pierrot and Aniplex from 2002 to 2007. It was followed by a sequel, Naruto: Shippuden, from 2007 to 2017. Viz Media licensed the manga and anime for North American production. The English dub of the show is still airing on Adult Swim's Toonami to this day. Apart from the anime series, original producer Pierrot also made 11 OVAs and 11 Naruto movies. Chances are, you guys have only seen a few or none of these movies yet. So we've made a list of some of the best Naruto movies for you guys and our friend, Devon Luong. "As is usual with Naruto movies, if you're a fan, you'll love it regardless. If taken as movie though, it's only okay. The story is pretty standard with these types of shounen movies. Big baddie appears, threatens the world, hero saves the day with a super-powered attack. If you like lots of action, then this will be a fun watch. It just isn't really all that deep story-wise."

"This more of a continuation of what the final chapters of the manga started, introducing the new generation of ninjas as we see the successor to the original Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke team. The story just scratched the surface - probably so as to not spoil fans with the new Boruto series - so treat it as an introduction on Boruto as a character."

"This does not revolve around any particularly big story arc in the main series. Rather, you should go into this thinking that this is a side-story and treating it that way, it's a good movie. The animation and sound is typical naruto affair so no surprises there. Overall this was a nice popcorn movie that you will enjoy regardless of the story."

"The second half of the movie is where things get interesting. Anyone who watches the series will know that situation with the naruto-sasuke dynamic but you do get to see them work together in this movie to defeat the big baddie. As with other Naruto movies, it focuses on action scenes and it's the same here."

"This was the first ever Naruto movie that was made and is a standalone movie. Whether you're a fan of the show or just curious about it, you won't have issues following the story in the movie. As a first effort, it's okay and the fight scenes are typical naruto and are fun to watch."

"This is a definite step-up from the previous movie both in animation and story. That is not to say that this was a particularly unique one, just better than previous attempts. There's plenty of action sequences all the to that final boss fight which was quite enjoyable."

"This is probably one of the Naruto movies that tried to really focus on the rest of the show's side characters. They get some pretty good screen time in this movie. The story itself is good, centering around basically, the rescue of Kakashi. Overall, a nice watch."

"A movie that came out after the end of the long-running manga series, this serves as a nice sendoff to the anime series that's been with us for the last decade and a look at the conclusion to the love story between Naruto and Hinata."
