Netflix started as an online DVD rental company back in 1997? It provided DVDs via mail through an online and sales site. DVD subscriptions were a thing back then. Even back then, Netflix was ahead of the curb. It was already offering subscription-based services. It offered unlimited rentals for a monthly fee. It had no late charges and even had personalized recommendations for its members. By 2005, it already had 4.2 million members. The company then launched a streaming service in 2007. It let users watch movies and TV shows on their computers. Hulu then came along the following year. The streaming services would battle it out over the years. They were pretty much unchallenged until Amazon and YouTube joined the fray.
Today, Netflix remains the dominant force in online streaming services. This is thanks in no small part to Netflix Originals, which it debuted back in 2013 with House of Cards. It had more than 130 million members stretched across 190 countries all over the world. There's a reason why the phrase "Netflix and chill" became so popular and meme-able. Aside from this, it had around 700 exclusive Netflix shows. No matter what you feel like watching today, you'll find it on Netflix.
