Did you know that Priyanka Chopra originally planned to be an aeronautical engineer before getting into film? Although Priyanka Chopra initially had no intention of joining India's film industry, her pageant wins, particularly Miss World 2000, brought her recognition. Despite being originally cast as the female lead in the 2002 romantic-thriller Humraaz, it fell through and she was eventually recast, mostly due to Chopra's prior commitments and schedule conflicts. Her Bollywood film debut, on the other hand, came in 2003 as the second female lead in The Hero: The Love Story of a Spy, which tells the story of an agent's battle against terrorism.
Her first, and possibly most successful, appearance in a Hindi comedy movie puts her in the female lead in the 2004 Mujhse Shaadi Karogi rom-com. Although she's already starred in multiple movies and TV shows outside of India during the following years, her Hollywood live-action film debut didn't come until 2017, where she played the main antagonist Victoria Leeds in Seth Gordon's Baywatch alongside Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, and Alexandra Daddario, among others. Afterward, Chopra would eventually star in a couple more American films, which drew both praise and criticism from different movie critics.
