"I don't know why it took me so long to get into reading anything from the extended Star Wars canon (i.e. distinct from the films), but a friend finally talked me into it. I'm glad they did. This was the third other book I read, and it blew me a way in terms of fulfilling the potential that exists in the Star Wars universe for stories that exist completely independently of everything we know from the film episodes, while fitting perfectly in what we know of that universe. I fear I'll only be disappointed reading other Star Wars books now, but I'm not going to let that stop me. Read this one if you're on the fence."

"As Star Wars-related fan-fiction goes, this book is certainly not the greatest, but it's definitely an entertaining read, and it expands nicely upon the Star Wars universe. Hardcore fans of the originals (by George Lucas) will probably not enjoy this very much because it introduces brand-new characters, but for someone who's bored of the same old stuff and wants something that delves deeper into the history of the Jedi, it's interesting enough. Have fun, young Padawan!"

"Captain Phasma is a commander that is well thought of among those she works with and strikes fear in those she opposes. Not much is known about the person under the mask but an enemy is now trying to figure this out. This book is a great addition to the Star Wars saga. It is more of a filler in between the main saga series installments but entertaining none the less."

"This book is an excellent side dish for Star Wars fans who are eagerly awaiting the next theatrical release of the real thing. This book provided a good back story for Leia and kind of fills in the missing pieces that wasn't discussed in the last theatrical installment. It also makes the reader hunger for more while awaiting the real thing on the big screen."

"Ever since Disney did away with much of the Star Wars Extended Universe, canonical books have been hard to find. "Ahsoka" picks up in building the extended universe back up, and it does so wonderfully. Those who are interested in the Clone Wars series are sure to love this. It's an excellent read!"

"There is a lot to explore in the Star Wars universe, but not all of it is canon. If you want to read the best new Star Wars canon book, read Darth Maul. It expands on the villains plans and motives and fills in the gaps left in the other star wars series."
