"So I'm your average guy that usually doesn't read or watch many romantic items, unless I'm doing so with my wife. I'm not ashamed however to say, at the risk of losing my man card, that I thought this was a very well written and engaging story. The characters seem very real, the plot is interesting, and the end was a big surprise to me as well. If your girl hasn't read or seen this yet guys, you might want to consider this one."

"I recently read a Nicholas Spark book titled, "Three Weeks with My Brother." The book was a real treat since it felt like an adventure. Nicholas wrote about his travels with his brother across different countries and I felt like I was there with him due to the level of detail. The book also offers a lot of depth and serious moments when it deals with Nicholas's relationship with his brother, goals, other family members and life. I would definitely recommend it to people who are and are not fans of Nicholas Sparks."

"Nicholas Sparks books are always good for a quick read, but they've become so formulaic. It's almost to the point where it seems like the books are written with a movie in mind, rather than just focusing on the book. This dumbs it down, and let's face it, the books aren't very intellectual to begin with. The Best of Me is the epitome of that. Lots of obvious, eye-rolling moments that sometimes feel like reading a teen's diary, not a book by a grown man. "

"Being a huge Nicholas Sparks fan and reading all his novels and loving all the movie adaptations to movies, I had to go back and read one of my favorites. Nights in Rodanthe is a classic for me and one I often to go back to. I felt this is the novel for me. It's about a divorced woman named Adrienne. She's left to raise her daughter and take care of her ailing father all alone. Like all Sparks novels, she happens on a chance meeting with a guy who would certainly change her life for the better. It's definitely a Sparks novel when you just feel the magic connection between characters and realize how genuine they are. The human connection he draws from his characters and the way he pieces everything together in his stories, especially Nights in Rodanthe, leaves me feeling positive about myself as well as humanity. It's a novel to savior and read when you're feeling like life has been throwing too much at you. I love this book."

"Although not one of his better stories, this book is both gripping and melancholy, with sprouts of joy. Usually, I have a few moments of torrential tears during a Sparks novel reading. But reading A Bend in the Road was more like a who-done-it (even though I figured it out pretty early on) with bits of romance interspersed. Until I read the last two sentences of the book, which had my face raining as expected. If you love Nicholas Sparks books, you'll enjoy Bend. If you're looking for a thriller, I'd recommend another of his novels, See Me (my favorite to date). But if romance and heartbreak is your thing (a-la Notebook) then this is a great substitute, even if it's not quite as good. 4/5 stars from me! "

"If you like love stories, you'll like the early Nick Sparks books. He's a master at drawing emotions out of readers and this one is no exception. You know at the beginning this is not going to end well for the reader. [ No spoilers, I trust you will buy a copy and read it yourself ]. After wiping away the tears I bought Bahama Breeze on the recommendation of a friend. Breeze is nothing like Message in a Bottle but Breeze was funny. If you love beaches, boats, and having your heart massaged by a master story teller, grab a copy of Message in a Bottle."

"This is classic Nicholas Sparks. It's an easy "beach read" book that I think anyone who likes Nicholas Sparks would enjoy. I think I read it in a single afternoon. I don't really think I would call it the best one by him though. It really doesn't compare with "The Notebook" or "Safe Haven". I'm not sure I would even put it in the to 20 of his books. "

"This book was pretty terrible and I regret my decision to read it. The emotional scenes were so forced and hard to read through. The dialogue was bad as well and made me believe I could do better. The book played out more like a fantasy than a real life situation and it was worse because of it. I struggled to hold interest in the book and almost gave up reading it, but my friend for some reason loved it, so I willed through it. I read a chapter or two every night before bed and it was excruciating. This is definitely not one of Nicholas Sparks's best efforts."
