"My daughter and I have both found this book fascinating. We are homeschoolers, and we used this book as part of a class on America history. Sometimes by the time you reach high school material, you feel like you have covered US history to death. This book was a breath of fresh air. It was enjoyable and we both learned some new things."

"I was really inspired reading this book. I had to pick a book and give a report on it in my history class and I picked this one. It took me two weeks to read, but it managed to keep my attention the whole time. I was inspired because the African Americans during this time put their best foot forward and really tried to progress as a group even though they were so oppressed. I gave my report about the book and received a good grade on it, but I went back and read it again just for my enjoyment."

"This book is great and I love the movie as well. This has some of my most favorite characters ever and I think you will agree. Homer is a fantastic author all onto a level of his own and this book is a great take on sci-fi. I love that it has all of these other overtones about who we are and where we are going, as well. Definitely get yourself a copy!"
