"The Watermelon King by Daniel Royse is a wonderful novel that tells two stories at once. It follows two brothers on their adventure through Africa. During their travels they read stories by their father about their grandfather who sold watermelons. The characters are endearing and the stories are very entertaining as is the travel adventure."

"Spring for Susannah is an interesting love story which takes place in the past, during the frontier days. The book is set in the Dakota Territory, although I am not certain if it is in the area of North or South Dakota. I would guess North Dakota based on the description, but I guess it doesn't matter. Overall, this is a very good book, and I would highly recommend it to anyone."

"This is one of those murder mystery thriller books that seem so popular. This takes place on highway truck and rest stops and seems like a small town sheriff story. It's ok, nothing special."

"While there are part of this book that are just heartbreaking in its retelling of the blizzard that plagued these immigrant families, there are other parts that just drag on. If the book had concentrated more on the facts about the harsh realities that were in store for these families on the unforgiving frontier it may have held my attention more. However there is only so much weather forecasting that one can handle reading before it becomes mind numbingly boring. "

"This is my favorite book from The Sacketts series. Jubal's adventurous spirit and his desire to explore the great unknown in the West really sets him apart from the rest of his family. The characters Jubal meets are incredibly unique and interesting. Unfortunately this book does not take place in Louis L'Amour's home state of North Dakota."

"Honestly, I didn't really care much for this particular book by Dana Stabenow. "It is more of a magical/historical fiction genre (which isn't my personal favorite). For someone who enjoys this genre of books, they might feel differently. It is an award winning novel after all. "
