"I have read several of Kristan Higgins' novels and all of them have been great books. This was probably my least favorite so far and only because of the deception angle of a fake romance. It just didn't click with me. The dialog and characters are excellent and well developed, as in all of Ms. Higgins' books."

"Book 2 of a highly successful and awarded trilogy that got made into movies. Yes, there's a fake relationship in the midst of all the action, but does it really matter than much? If your expectations aren't too unrealistically high, you should enjoy this offering. "

"When's the best time for a new romance? When your last one, that went all the way to marriage, ends in divorce of course. Samantha Monroe has lost her husband and picked up three children, and has little to do to make ends except cut others split ends at the hair saloon. She entertains an offer to help a local politician keep up appearances in exchange for a paycheck, but along the way starts to feel Cupid's Arrow hitting its mark in her heart. Will they take their relationship under the covers, or simply keep it under wraps? I do like this book, even if it's a little silly and strained in places. It reads fast, but could have used some more work on a few points."
