"I decided to reread Of Mice and Men after not having read it in at least decade, not since I was forced to read it in high school. And wow! Younger me did not appreciate how powerful this story felt. A fine example of a story that takes on a life of its own. Steinbeck has a masterful way of capturing the landscape against which such heart-breaking tragedy unfolds in such beautiful words. I was crying by page 45! This truly is one of those books that will stay in my thoughts for a long time"

"This is the seventh book in the Harry Potter series. If you're a fan of this series then there's no doubt that you'll love this book. The book unlike many of the earlier books is more aggressive and surprising in terms of plots and other details. The book features the deaths of many characters. Friendships will be broken and remade many times in order to cope with all the thrill and action that's taking place in this seventh book. I highly recommend this book if you've enjoyed the friendships between the Harry Potter characters in the previous books. "

"I had no idea what to expect when I purchased this book. I had heard that it was fantastic, but I honestly didn't know much about it. All I can say is... wow. I was on a trip to Guatemala when I read this on my Kindle, and even on the trip of a lifetime, it was hard to put down. I absolutely loved the main characters--powerful and talented each in their own way. Could a well-off white woman ever truly understand the life of an African American housekeeper and nanny? Even today, those who lead privileged lives cannot know the struggles of the poor--unless they have been there. This story explores that concept, illustrating how our understanding of the world becomes skewed based on our experiences. Stereotypes affect how we treat each other, and fear and societal norms prevent us from doing the right thing at times. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes stories that show a full picture with very real characters, flaws and all."

"Number the Stars is a story that follows Annemarie Johansen and her family. German troops began sweeping Denmark and relocating all of the Jewish population to camps, but Annemarie takes in her best friend, Ellen Rosen, and conceals her from them. This story is really engaging and heart pounding, but offers a very solid read for learning about the time when Hitler came to power. I highly recommend this book."
