"This book was a mediocre read at best. The story had a solid foundation but by the time I finished it left me wanting more. It seems that the author was writing this book in the mind that it was a classic when really it should have just been written as a feel good story and not tried to delve too deep into hidden meanings and superfluous explanations of ordinary happenings in the story."

"I bought this book series for my 9 year old niece and read it with her. This is a good book for children that love animals and adventure. It is mostly a children's book series, so the story and characters were rather simplistic and as such I would not recommend it to most adults for solo reading, but for children in the Elementary School ages it can be a good read, and even something to bond with them over."

"When looking for new books for my Kindle, Never Cry Wolf was in my recommended bar. I never saw myself as an animal lover or nature enthusiast, but Never Cry Wolf really swooned me in. Never has my imagination painted such vivid pictures from a book before. Mr. Mowat captured the brutality and innocence of an animal that is always around us. "

"Runt is a lovable story set in the Minnesota forest. This tells a story about a pup named Runt who along with his four stronger pups most learn how to survive as a wolf pack out in the wild. This is a true underdog story about how Runt must prove how he is deserving of his position in the pack. Marion Dane Bauer weaves a very warm and heart felt story. I picked this book up online for my daughter who has really gotten into wolves of late. I read it over and it was exceptional. She loves the book too and hasn't put it down. It's a book that is a great companion piece to works such as Call of the Wild and Child of the Wolves. I really think this is a great reading book for your kids just before they hit their teens, as there are underlying themes that you can discuss with them that's relatable to what they might experience in school."
