"Overrated book by a female author. Rin Tin Tin is great but the book is not. Obviously written by a "New Yorker" writer. It could have been something."

"This book does feature a German Shepherd dog, and if there is just a few books out there that feature the specific dog, then I guess I would consider this one of the best in its very specific topic. Hide and Seek is very well written by one of the authors I have heard a lot about, that is a huge positive for me."

"This is a good story of courage, endurance, and heart, both the part of dog and handler. The writing was engaging and the story was humorous, exciting, and also tragic."

"Buster the Treasure Hunter Dog is a children's book by Melinda K Trotter. It is available from Amazon for $9.99 for a paperback. It is the story of a family dog who helps the family look for a treasure. It isn't a big seller and only has 3 reviews on Amazon so I'm not real sure it is a great fit for the topic."

"I just finished this book in one sitting. It is a wonderful story about how goodness and kindness can be found amid death and misery. Not only it this a "love" story of sorts, it also brings home to the reader the brutal nature of the war in Iraq, and the toll it takes on one's humanity. I commend the author on his compassion, and the dedication of all those who helped bring this dog to America. As to why he devoted so much energy to saving an animal when there is so much human suffering going on there, I think the lieutenant's reason was elloquent - "At least I was able to save something!" Hats off to you, Sir, and all you and all of our military personnel have done and continue to do to keep us safe. "
