"Starcrossed was not for me. The main character was made out to be so powerful that it just really annoyed me. The reason being because she was always needing protection, but supposed to be so powerful. The development of the characters is where I started to become uninterested in this book. "

"This was a mainstay of my childhood and served as an introduction to high fantasy that would shape my taste in literature my entire life. The relationship between characters in this book and religious figures is something most people are already familiar with, but I don't want to spoil it for those who aren't. I recommend it for anyone interested in fantasy, myth, or religion."

"I really wasn't sure about this book, but I saw it in the bookstore and decided to give it a shot. I really enjoy Greek mythology and was hoping this would be different. Since it is the third book in the series I started reading them all and I was just in love with them. I really enjoyed how the author portrayed the goddess and her interactions with mortals. I can't wait to read more from the author."

"I read Josephine Angelini's first book "Starcrossed" last month and while I liked it, I wouldn’t have put it on my favorites category. I decided to pick up Dreamless and I was surprised at how I absolutely loved it. I had to play catch-up for a good portion of Dreamless so I would definitely recommend doing a refresher on Starcrossed. The storyline in Dreamless was much more engaging to me. Although all the various Underworld scenes did get a little repetitive in the beginning, I was rooting so hard for Helen to accomplish her task and once things started really happening in the Underworld parts, I was all for it. While I wasn't a huge fan of the love triangle the rest of plot was entertaining enough to keep me on board. If you’re looking for a fun YA fantasy book I definitely recommend checking out Starcrossed and Dreamless."

"I actually liked this book and appreciated the modern take on Greek mythology. While the story can be a little melodramatic at times, the plot is pretty decent and the characters are each unique and interesting. I felt a strong connection to the main character, Kate, and I think that's what made me want to keep reading and see how she solves the mystery of her king's abduction. I think it was a good book overall."

"This book is entertaining, but it's hardly on its' way to becoming a classic. We both read this (my adult daughter and myself). It was pretty adult-ish (theme-wise). Some of it is well written, some of it is trite. It is very heavy on the romance part, so if that's your kind of thing, this is a good book for you. If you like the historical and philosophical motifs of gods and goddesses, then this is a bit on the lite side. So, be aware of that before you get it. "
