"It's dark alright - it involves human trafficking and teenagers. Does more need to be said about meeting that criteria? Personally, I despise these stories- both the topic and the outcome of young people in power-imbalance relationships finding love and somehow winning. Some parts of it aren't badly written in themselves, but it goes on way too long. Meh overall at best."

"This isn't a very good solution to the problem/topic. This isn't a dark love story, this is a story about rape leading to being a slave. This is a dangerous example to set for young girls, who might not be mature enough to understand the difference between a novel and reality."

    #3Stolen

    Stolen

Sixteen year old Gemma is kidnapped from Bangkok airport and taken to the Australian Outback. This wild and desolate landscape becomes almost a character in the book, so vividly is it described. Ty, her captor, is no stereotype. He is young, fit and completely gorgeous. This new life in the wilderness has been years in the planning. He loves only her, wants only her. Under the hot glare of the Australian sun, cut off from the world outside, can the force of his love make Gemma love him back? The story takes the form of a letter, written by Gemma to Ty, reflecting on those strange and disturbing months in the outback. Months when the lines between love and obsession, and love and dependency, blur until they don't exist \- almost.

"This is your typical love story if that is what you are into. Boy kidnaps girl, falls in love with girl, then? Nothing stands oot about this book. I should not have wasted my time."

"Love love love Wuthering Heights. This is such a sad tale but well worth the read, and not your conventional love story. Give it a few pages. You may find it a slow start, but eventually the story will reel you in and you'll be up all night to finish it. Then watch the movie - but only then. "

"This is actually a very interesting story that I think anyone should read. This woman goes through an incredibly amount of punishment at the hands of the people she is left with and then is later having to deal with a really harsh employer. Eventually she ends up falling in love with him and this is interesting because of all the things she has had to deal with. Definitely a must read."

"I had heard really good things about this book, but it was a letdown. It felt too cartoonish and drab in many parts. I really do enjoy the concept as it's creative, but it could have been executed to a much better degree."

"I found this to be a very dark and foreboding journey into the psyche of a dejected and despised sad person. Treated almost like an animal, the story of the Phantom and his love are tragic and moving. A true classic, but be prepared to enter a downward spiral of tragedy and despair. "
