"This book started out slow and there were parts in the middle that gave too much information about Star Shell and tended to make the book boring. I skipped over parts of the middle. The book didn't start getting good until the last 100 pages or so. "

"Dance with a tiger is an interesting tale set back 35000 years ago. I like that it is set in the Ice ages and that the plot tends to go with historical times. I also like the groups and the way that the characters were developed."

"The Gathering Night is a book that has a very mysterious under tone and I found it to be quite a relaxing read. Some of the characters are quite interesting with their different motives. I found it to be a pretty long read as well which was a pro for me. "

"This isn't the best or most exciting book about prehistoric people--it would take a lot to topple the Clan of the Cave Bear series from the throne, but this book is action packed and compelling. The protagonist's wife and child are killed by a mammoth, and he and his tribe set out to relocate to a new area. Of course, a lot of the information in this book is conjecture. There isn't a lot of research one can really do, given the time the book takes place. However, Sarabande makes the details believable, and that makes the book a good read. It's the first in a series, so the reader will have many opportunities to spend time in this exciting world."

"Set during the colonization of the Americas, the Native Americans still prosper, but are struggling to come to terms with their new found friends from over seas. One girl, Ivory Carter, acts as an ambassador of peace towards these people afar, and she alone is the conduit for bringing understanding to both people. At times tense and taut, the story shines as an example of people overcoming their differences and working together."

"She Who Remembers demonstrates how looking different from others in your group can cause judgment and even outcast. It is relevant to today as much as the time in which the story is set. Recognizing that one person can save the outcast and put her on a path to greatness and high status reflects that acceptance and embracing differences can improve many lives. A great read."
