"As a fan of Jo Jo Moyes' earlier works, I was intrigued by the type of story that this would be. Lovely story of two people with a lot to live for and I enjoyed brief moments of reflection on some of the events in the book. Good read all around for me. "

"This story is absolute trash written by an obvious left-wing baby. It is intentionally appealing to victimhood, the hallmark of leftist thought."

"What's worse than one poorly written love triangle? Two of them, obviously. I was really bored, and needed something to read, and picked this off the shelf at my mom's during a visit. I had to talk with her afterwards about her taste in books, because wow is this book really out there. A period romance, but written with modern love triangles, with modern scenes. I thought the 40s were a time of modesty and chaste desire. Not here; wow if it was any steamier my glasses would've fogged up. The sex is good, but the story's not. That's probably why mom read it, though she told me it was because she liked the cover and period."

"I wanted to find a fiction book that was on the NY times best sellers list sometime in the past. The Invention of Wings, a book on the best sellers list in 2015, blends the historical genre with fiction wonderfully and paints a wonderful story about freedom from bondage and the chains that keep people detained. "This was an educational experience as well as an entertaining experience. The story follows an orphan train, which was a real thing in the past. The story is compelling but it does go slow in places. It's not overly long and finishes up nicely."

"I have to disagree with The Little Paris Bookshop as an NY Times fiction best seller in the year 2015. I do not recall seeing this book on the list. I do remember the book that was truly the best fictional seller according to NY Times that year and it was called 'The Girl on the Train'. "
