Music visualizers aren't just for aesthetic purposes. Sure, these free online music visualizers and music visualizer apps help beautify and enrich the symbolism of music. But they can serve another purpose too. Visualizers aid people who have hearing deficiencies and deaf people enjoy music. Making music more accessible to different communities is important and must not be overlooked. After all, music improves the imagination and can even be impactful enough to improve a person’s mood. Hearing loss occurs more often than an average person would think. 2 out of 3 children in America are born with it. That’s a lot of people who do not gain access to the privileges deemed normal in an abled person’s life. This is why deaf Portland musician Myles de Bastion is spearheading a visual sound system for the disabled community and hearing community alike. This system is called Cymatic lighting. Vibrations of each sound are translated into movement of light and space. As a result, the sound is made visible by this principle. It is said to create audio-based processing that whatever music is playing in real time.

Science and technology are used to help deaf people feel the aura of each track. This lighting system can also be used as emergency systems for homes. The technology is groundbreaking in the field of calamity notification. Most alert devices rely on sound and there are very limited alternatives for disabled people. Cymatic lighting is making the art form and survival even more universal than before. Turning everyday things more accessible and inclusive is an endeavor shared by industries like visual voicemail apps and even poetry, too.
