"Honestly I felt like this movie was way over rated. It's interesting I guess, and they definitely did a ton of research on how the titanic sank, but the plot itself is just a dumb "love" story."

"I have not seen this movie since its original release. It made an unforgettable impression on me then, but this time the impact was even more intense. It is such an extraordinary movie, in subject matter, acting, and cinematography. I had forgotten how effective the black-and-white production made this film. I'm getting ready to make a trip to Poland and Auschwitz and am glad I watched this film again in preparation for the experience . It is such a graphic and compelling reminder of what a horrific and shameful time this was in modern history."

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that there are three movies so far that won 11 academy awards, the most for any Oscar-nominated film? The first to achieve this feat and be a part of this 11-win trio was Ben-Hur in 1959. Even though the special effects and technology at the time were not that developed yet, it managed to win other awards aside from the Best Picture. Next on the list to win 11 Oscars was Titanic, including the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director. It was also one of the movies with the most Oscar nominations with 14, tying up with Joseph L. Mankiewicz's All About Eve and Damien Chazelle's La La Land. Interestingly, it was the only movie that has given James Cameron a Best Director nod in the Academy Awards up to date.

Lastly, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King was the most recent one to be a part of this winning group. This Peter Jackson epic also holds another historical Oscar record. It has the largest sweep ever in the history of the Academy Awards after it won all of its 11 nominations in different award categories. Not only that; it was also the very first fantasy motion picture to take home the Academy Award for the Best Picture. Since the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards only the best Oscar-winning movies, everybody can expect better, if not the best quality of movies as the Oscars is being held yearly.

"West Side Story is just one of those classic movies that everyone needs to watch. It is loosely based on William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. In this adaptation you have two rivals gangs The Sharks and The Jets and how one boy Tony (former Jet) falls in love with a girl named Maria (the sister of a Shark). This movie also touches on race issues which seems so relevant in today's world. The music is what sets this apart from other Romeo and Juliet type movies. It is a must watch movie!"

But when it comes down to it, do you want to watch a movie where the sound is merely awesome or do you want to go with a film where the biopic is about someone's life and that someone's (Gary Oldman) performance earned them a freaking oscar? Yeah, maybe you should go see Darkest Hour today."
