"The only reason I gave this solution a bit of a lower score is because the person who asked the question is looking for more than one (even though they did ask for the BEST) Oscar-winning short FILMS. Other than that I thought the solution was pretty good. It gives a good description of the film, other films similar to this one, customer reviews (good to know this film is only about a minute long)."

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that films in the 1930s only lasted about 10 minutes? We all at some point in our lives have watched full-length feature films. These films are the basis of contemporary movies. We are used to watching films which run around a litte more or less than 2 hours. Early on, animated films came as typical short film subjects. Majority of all major film production companies had units assigned to develop and produce these short films. Today, we know about DreamWorks and its collection of short films. Warner Bros. also often includes old animated shorts from its movie catalog.

The recognition of short films in today's movie culture is overwhelming. It is not just limited to animations today. Short films nowadays may tell stories about more profound stories and issues. These films may also feature well-known actors and be created by critically-acclaimed directors. In 1931, the first Academy Award for short film was given. The first winner was Hal Roach's comedy "The Music Box". From that time forward, the quality and themes of short films have evolved. Award-giving bodies for film from various countries have recognized their own country's short films. Movie fans now have a selection of these short films to be watched in different platforms. There is an overflowing selection of Oscar-winning animated films to be appreciated and enjoyed.

"The Award winning, 2017, short film "Sing", which can be watched or streamed on Amazon Prime, is a beautiful coming of age story based off of real-life events. "Sing", not to be mistaken for the animation, also titled "Sing" features and stars actors, Zsófia Szamosi, Dorka Hais, and Dorka Gáspárfalvi and was written and directed by Kristóf Deák. The film is based on a competitive school choir and takes the perspective, among others of the new girl in class who has to a tough choice to make, either stand up against a corrupt system or just quietly fit in, keep her head down and follow the rules. I love the way it shows the strength of this young girl, the trails, and tribulations that even young kids have to go through as well as showing the bound and the sisterhood that these girls develop portray. The mentorship and message of this film are also excellent. "Sing" is a lovely film to watch alone, with friends or if you have a little one of your own, sit and snuggle up with your favorite snack, this film will definitely spark up a conversation. "

"22 minutes is very short for a film, and I did not know films were ever this short. Helium sounds like it has an interesting story line though, and I think it could be fun to watch on my tablet sometime."

"By far the most intense and moving short I've ever seen, this film succeeds in firmly placing the viewer in a moment of crisis. Brilliant performances by Sally Hawkins and Jim Broadbent. I worked the AIDS hotline in the early 00's. This film really tapped those memories."
