What are the best otome games for Android?

Japanese-style games are really nothing new and are even known in other parts of Asia and even in the West. You have galge games that appeal to men and basically let them live out their dating fantasies with anime-like girls. That is all well and good but about on the side of women? This is where the best otome games come into the picture. They are basically the same concept but instead of cute girls, they get to interact with attractive men in-game. You've probably shrugged these game and thought to yourself that these games would only appeal to bored or lonely women. That would not be the whole case as there is more to these games than just that. The question is then, what?

One of the most obvious reasons is that they appeal to our own personal tastes. There are so many potential partners and storylines to follow in the game so chances are, we'll find one that will appeal to us on a personal level. Another popular reason is a sense of belonging. Just like any hobby, people are bound to get together and form a community. Being a part of such a community is nice. There is nothing wrong with playing these game and you might find something you like as well. You don't even have to invest in a PC or a game console to try them out as there's plenty of anime games for iPhone to try out. These games are available to check out on today's smartphones like Android devices. Best of all, otome games for Android are usually free. Check out our list of some of the best otome games for Android below and start playing.

The IMs, calls, occasional videos, invitations, you’ll be receiving all of these throughout the day. This realistic simulation makes it one of the best otome games for Android!

While you make the difficult decision of choosing among them, you’ll also be working on advancing your career as a media producer.

  2. 3Amnesia: Memories

Are you a fan of parallel universes? Then Amnesia: Memories may interest you. In this classic otome game, you’ll be playing the heroine in different worlds having different stories. There’s no common story or plot but the characters exist all throughout the different worlds. That is, someone may be your best friend in one world and be a dangerous criminal in another.

  1. 4Dangerous Fellows

Danger is sweet. Maybe that’s why many are hooked on Dangerous Fellows and perhaps that's why it's dubbed as one of the top otome games for Android. Everything about this game is beautifully drawn. Just look at those characters, don’t they look good? That’s not all, Dangerous Fellows also has a dangerously exciting plot. Imagine being stuck in school while a zombie apocalypse happens. It’s not exactly the best time to find love but in this game, that’s exactly your aim.

  2. 5Liar! Uncover The Truth

Love sleuthing around? Liar! Uncover the Truth will surely bring out the Nancy Drew in you. In order to find out whether your lover is lying or not, you’ll need your detective skills to find out. 3. 6Once Upon a Fairy Love Tale

Another one for the fairy tale lovers, Once Upon a Fairy Tale will transport you to the magical world of fairy tales. The game is heavily inspired by popular stories such as Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast, and more. Aside from finding your true love, this game also gives you the satisfaction of dressing up your character in beautiful princess costumes.

  4. 7Otome Game: Ghost Love Story

Otome Game: Ghost Love Story is probably one of the most relatable otome games for Android out there. In this game, you’ll be playing as Christina who has to choose between a former love (who’s already dead), Kyle, and a new romance, Vincent. You’ll have two choices throughout the game which are neither satisfactory nor allows you to keep both guys. Relatable, right?

  5. 8Ninja Love+

If you dreamt of being a princess with a trusted ninja bodyguard, you may want to check out Ninja Love. In this game, you’ll be playing an average orphan girl raised on a temple. As the story unfolds, your character is revealed to be the lost princess that could unite the kingdom. And in order to go back to the palace, you’d need a trusty ninja to keep you safe.

  6. 9Nicole

Ranking a little low on the list is the mystery simulation game, Nicole. While it’s primarily marketed as a mystery sim, Nicole does have romantic elements. It may not be satisfying if we consider both genres, but it does give a good mix of letting you play detective while flirting with the main suspects of the case.

  7. 10Locked Heart

Next on the list of the best otome games for Android is the fairytale-inspired Locked Heart. In this Goldilocks meets Beauty and the Beast game, you’ll be playing a heroine who wants to become a chef like her mom. But due to some events, you get lost in a forest and end up in the cursed De Lockes mansion where you’ll find love.

  8. 11My Horse Prince

My Horse Prince is hilariously weird and that makes the game charming. Instead of the usual hot guys you get on otome games, you’ll be dating a horse here (thus, the name). But it’s not a normal horse, it actually a horse with a rather handsome human face. I know, it’s too far fetched. If an idle time passer is what you wnat, maybe you can give this a try.

An otome game, which literally means maiden game, is a story-based video game made for females. Sometimes this game is called "otoge" for short. Generally, the goal of this game is to develop a romantic relationship between a female and male. In other words, it is a female-oriented game wherein players control the main character's choices of men to pursue.

Did you know the first otome game is Angelique? An all-female team created the game which was released in 1994 by Koei for the Super Famicom. Originally, the game was for pre-teen and younger teenage girls. But surprisingly it became popular with older teenagers and women in their 20s. Yes, it became a smash hit among female gamers in Japan although it wasn't popular abroad. In fact, Angelique was credited for setting up the specifics and conventions of women's games. Interestingly, this genre is mostly made up of visual novels and simulation games specifically anime dating sims and life simulation games. Moreover, it has the same style elements with shojo and josei manga. But plotwise it is often similar to harem manga. Additionally, otome games released on console and handheld platforms do not contain pornographic content. Why? Because companies such as Sony and Nintendo do not allow it. Yet, there are games released on PC platforms that are rated 18+ for their sexual content. This trend has also made its way to the mobile space with mobile otome games being released for smartphones like Android.

"1.) It's too short. I just discovered this app yesterday morning and was already done by early yesterday afternoon. There's 21/22 chapters and each chapter is a couple minutes long tops. Not counting the short chapters there's no other content except for the endings. 2.) This app is in the romance/thriller genre and while it does live up to its thriller label it doesn't live up to its romance label... there's ZERO romance in this. It's just friend stuff at best. 3.) This game is next to impossible to complete without A. paying actual money for gems or B. grinding for free gems for a long time. Now don't get me wrong you can play it without paying but you'll only be able to get the normal ending, with the other endings expect to pay money or grind for a long time. Have to buy all the outfits, all the actions and responses all of which cost a lot of gems, even have to pay a lot to be able to get one on one time with one of the guys (and by one on one I mean a night watch just talking nothing special exact same kind of interaction that happens during the story) 4.) It's expensive. I get that apps have to make money but for how short this game is, the fact that there's no content and the fact that they make it to where you pretty much have to pay/use up a lot of your time to complete 90% of it i'd expect it to be A LOT cheaper. To me this just seems like another money hungry app, where money is the main goal. The sad thing is it's actually a really well made app, the story is really unique and interesting, the art is beautiful and the characters are really interesting (especially Eugene hands down the best boy) but the shortness of it, the lack of content, it not having any romance despite it's claims (which really sucks, I like my otome games to have romance main thing that drew me into playing it), how expense it is and the fact that it's money hungry completely ruins it. I stupidly paid $8.99 for gems when I first started playing it because I really liked it at first and put my trust in this app thinking that it was going to be long, have romance etc.... stupid move on my part. I used all my gems to buy two outfits, to buy tickets for the night watches, paid for premium responses things like that and still ended up with the normal ending... Thankfully other people who completed it were nice enough to load the endings on Youtube and put all the ending into out there because I said screw it and just looked it up. So I got my closure and didn't have to spend even more of my money just to find out. If money's not an option for you and you don't care about any of that then go for it but if you're broke/want to get your moneys worth/don't feel like waiting forever until you earn enough free gems you'll be sorely disappointed and i'd suggest just doing one play through for the normal ending then just looking up the endings and all the other info. This app obviously but money before quality."

"The art style for this game I absolutely beautiful! Unlike other Otome games, the characters have English voice actors as well as Japanese or Chinese. The story line is amazing! You can text and call the boys, as well as go one dates with them. You can play the game without money, but if you try to get every side thing then itll cost quite a bit."

"I thoroughly enjoy the storyline in this game. English translation isn't bad compared to some of the others out there. My main concern is that there are very few free options for your avatar. There are 2, maybe 3 free outfits you can obtain besides event items. And even then, the good items are usually not attainable without spending money"
