"I really enjoyed the movies so I bought the books too. I love the story overall. It's different, it's mystic, it's fantasy, it's exciting. I love the fight scenes in the book and I liked the dialogue between the characters. I found each character was well rounded in terms of personality and I loved the romance aspect of the story. This is definitely a book that I would read again. "

"Really fun! I don't often read young adults books but after seeing the first movie and really liking it, I decided to give this one a try and I have really not regretted it one bit. Although extremely popular I don't find that its merits have been exaggerated, or that it is overrated in any way. It's actually way above the fray in terms of invention, social insight, inspiration, and even style, although it's not Shakespeare either. But it's well written, beautifully structured, engrossing, touching, heartbreaking even at times, and it doesn't stop! I can't imagine someone not liking it, honestly, if they were to really give it a try."

"This is really overrated. I don't know what the deal is. Really, some literature gets hype behind it. It makes me think that publishing and art really are a big lottery sometimes. I cannot fathom this book's popularity."

"Although this book had its moments, overall I felt that the plot was too derivative and the character development was not strong enough. I think that author's inexperience and youth is probably in large part responsible for this, and her skills have not had enough time to be fully developed as of yet. The themes were rather hackneyed and the story itself was rather kitschy. While this may appeal to younger readers, it was not for someone with more sophisticated literary tastes."

Nora and Patch's complicated, intriguing romance immediately got me caught up in the storyline and I read the entire thing in one sitting. Definitely recommend."

"Even the Darkest Stars is the best overrated young adult books, in my opinion. While so many people have rated this book highly, it's still exceptional even though I initially wanted to dismiss it due to this. I really enjoy this author's work and it was quite an inspirational story. I'll certainly read it again!"
