"Urban fantasy is one of my favorite genres, and Kim Harrison is one of the masters of the genre. Her heroines are total bad-asses who also look great. Dead Witch Walking is another feather in her cap, I couldn't put the book down and loved it. "

"I absolutely love stories of the paranormal and when I started reading Bitten (Women of the Otherworld) by Kelley Armstrong I was instantly entranced. The female lead is strong willed and easy to get behind as you read about her plight. The story isn't the most realistic as characters make a lot of odd choices from time to time but it doesn't distract from the overall story too much. While the story is well worth reading if you're into the supernatural, there are a few characters that could have been fleshed out more or could be a little less one-dimensional. Overall however, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author."

"The book is slightly paranormal in nature. Honestly, when I then paranormal I tend to lean more toward ghost stories. The heroine is probably kickass from the description. However, how kickass can a heroine be if she needs help to beat the bad guys?"

Now that I can't read her stories anymore, I searched for a book series dedicated to exactly what I loved about her. Thats how I found Angelfall, and thank the lord I did. "When a friend gave me this book to read a few years ago I wasn't sure I really wanted to read it. The description sounded silly and too similar to the glut of vampire and werewolf fiction we've been inundated with lately. It took me a while to get started but once I did I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Yes, the story is still a by-the-numbers affair, but the characters are actually well-rounded and fleshed out. But the best part is the dialogue. It's snappy, funny and inventive. That's something that is usually lacking in this type of book. The heroine of the story is strong and capable and shows a real ability to overcome her setbacks."
